The Rosa Dress: Three Different Versions

I absolutely love this pattern!

It’s great for beginners, and Janelle from Rosery Apparel has a nice YouTube video explaining each step. I highly recommend checking it out.

The first Rosa Dress: Long version with long sleeves

Rosa Dress number 1

For my first Rosa Dress, I decided to go for the long version. I also lengthened the sleeves and added some elastic at the wrist. This was definitely not the most elegant solution, but this project was only my second ever, so that’s where my skill level was at at the time.

Other than the lengthened sleeves, I didn't modify anything. I made a size S.

Fabric

For this project, I used EcoVero Viscose from Atelier Brunette, bought at MeterMeter. The color is called Lucie Ochre, and I just love the print.

The second Rosa Dress: Short version

Rosa Dress number 2

This is probably my most worn Rosa Dress. It’s great for the office, on hot summer days and for those brunch dates with friends (even though I don’t have a lot of those anymore since becoming a mom, haha).

I made a size S and didn’t do any modifications for this dress.

Fabric

Again, I bought the most beautiful Atelier Brunette fabric from MeterMeter. This time it’s a cotton/linen blend, that feels amazing against the skin. The color is Night.

The third Rosa Dress: Shortened bodice, puffy sleeves, and layered skirt

Rosa Dress number 3

Now, this is definitely the most festive Rosa Dress, I’ve made!

For this dress, I made a lot of modifications to the pattern.

Sleeves: I used the pattern for puff sleeves provided by Janelle at Rosery Apparel. She has a great YouTube explaining how to make them.

Bodice: I shortened the bodice by approximately 5 cm.

Skirt: I added an extra layer by measuring the width of the original skirt and making a new rectangle with 50% more width. The top layer has the width of the original skirt and the bottom layer is wider.

Fabric

I used cotton poplin bought in Berlin at a cute fabric store called Frau Tulpe Stoffe.

I love all three versions of the Rosa Dress, and I can see myself making more in the future. Let me know in the comment section, if you have any questions <3
